Mocha Mug Intervals

Introducing Mocha Mug Intervals!

The perfect wintery game to warm up your students’ interval skills!

This game has been a total hit in my piano clubs! I’ve got beginners who don’t read music yet and others who are just starting to—so I tweak the game to match their level!

For pre-readers:

Roll the dice, land on a mug, and play that interval on the piano! For example:

Land on a “third”? Play a third!

Land on a “fifth”? Play a fifth!

Bonus: Have them try melodic or harmonic intervals for extra fun!

For early readers:

Use the Mocha Mug cards! Students draw a card, find the matching mug on the board, and move to that spot. For example: pull a card with “thirds”? Move to the “thirds” mug!

This game is the ultimate cozy vibe for those chilly winter months where hot cocoa and piano fun go hand in hand!
