Two Totally Spooky Pieces for your Piano Students to Play This October!
You’ve got to start having some fun in your lessons! It may seem awkward and uncomfortable to go against your typical schedule but it’s essential to keeping your students hooked. A great way to start shifting from traditional to fun is by embracing the holiday season!
Halloween is a great time to start introducing some light-hearted, spunky pieces to get your students excited about what they’re learning.
There’s not a doubt in my mind that with these two pieces, your students will be itching to get home to their own piano to practice!

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT EACH PIECE:
Introducing the first spooky piece: Teagan’s Duet! I started a series of student duets with my students a couple of months ago and Teagan’s is PERFECT for this theme! It’s sure to be a hit in your studio, considering it sounds super Halloween-ey!!! You’ll be able to teach your students that piece in five minutes, it’s THAT easy! It uses a similar process as my Cascade Method Pop Song Method (revealed in this blog!), so no real notes are involved.
You’ll have to look at the “Teacher Version” to be familiar with the rhythm, as well as your own duet part (or listen to Teagan’s Duet on Spotify!) but trust me, your students will LOVE how quickly they learn it!!!
PIECE TWO: TRICK OR TREATING GHOSTS:
This second piece is one with real notes and can be found in my Halloween Fun! Book 1 with 10 original fun Halloween-Themed piano pieces! There are two versions to download: one that is side by side and one where you can both share a page. You can choose which version works best for you and your students! This one will be light-hearted and spooky-cute with a simple little rhyme. (If you know me, you know I struggle with lyrics but since I love you guys, I was able to put something together, ha!)
